- Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
- on the left side panel, click on 'Change adapter settings'
- Right click the adapter you wish to give priority to
- Click Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4
- Click Properties > Advanced
- Un-check "Automatic metric"
- Enter a number between 1 and 9999 for the "Interface metric" (smaller is higher priority)
I was doing as above, but i think i found a better way:
- Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
- on the left side panel, click on 'Change adapter settings'
- Press and release the Alt button
- From the menu click on Advanced > Advanced Settings
- In the "Connections" pane, click on the up or down arrow to re-order the connections in the order you want Windows network services to use them.
